Velux & Rooflight Loft Conversion Nationwide
Lofts on narrow, terraced streets are often hard to reach. Your loft hatch might be a tight squeeze, or a high, steep ladder might make night-time trips awkward. Velux & rooflight loft conversions let in light and open up space. We will tell you if your loft is not worth converting.
What we do about it
The first thing we check is the roof structure, looking for any rotten timbers or failed joists. We measure up the roof space to see what Velux windows will fit, without making a mess of the street scene. We draw up a plan for the roof lights, making sure the roofing felt will keep out the wet, and the soffits and fascia will not blow off in a gale, come winter.
What you should check today
- 1 Reach into the loft to feel the roof timbers before it gets cold
- 2 Find the stopcock and check it turns easily, then locate the consumer unit
- 3 Get the floor plan of the house ready, including any extensions
- 4 Clear the eaves and the loft hatch to give us easy access
- 5 Room above a kitchen might make plumbing for a loft conversion with en-suite easier than elsewhere
Watch out for

- ✓ Check the joists for sagging, where the roof deck has rotted
