Loft Conversion with En-Suite Nationwide
We start with a survey at your end-of-terrace with a side return and an outside tap, noting the existing roof structure and services. Next we agree on the en-suite layout, produce a detailed quote and set a start date. Our team works nationwide, travelling to your property to carry out the conversion.
What we do on site
On arrival we clear the loft hatch, set up a safe access ladder and inspect the hatch frame for warping or rot. We then measure the clear headroom, check the joists for sag or insect damage, and test the soil stack, consumer unit and stopcock for leaks or corrosion. Finally we discuss the en-suite layout, note any planning constraints and prepare a fixed quote.
Preparation checklist before our survey
- 1 Clear the loft floor of stored items and ensure the loft hatch opens fully for safe entry.
- 2 Check that the existing stopcock, consumer unit and soil stack are accessible and note any visible damage or leaks.
- 3 Measure the side return width and the distance from the outside tap to the loft access point, writing the figures down.
- 4 Inform household members of the planned survey time and keep pets and children away from the work area during the visit.
Watch out for
- ✓ Loft hatch sticking or swollen timber – lubricate hinges, replace warped sections.
- ✓ Damp patches on joists – signal roof leak; inspect flashing and felt.
- ✓ Corroded soil stack or stopcock – test pressure, replace faulty fittings.
- ✓ Low headroom under ridge – limits en-suite height; consider dormer or Velux.
