Dormer loft conversions nationwide
Decide how to use the coldest room in the house. A dormer loft conversion adds space nationwide, not just in Manchester. The work starts with a site visit and an estimate. We'll email the outline and the pricing before we start work.
What happens during the visit
On arrival, we'll check the roof's structure. First, the trusses, the rafters and the joists. Next, we'll inspect the soil stack and the stopcock for leaks. We'll assess the ceiling joists and the loft hatch. We'll look for exposed pipework, especially in Victorian terraces, and check for leaks. We'll make notes, take measurements. We'll share these with you, and explain the pricing before work starts.
Acts to take now
- 1 Do not use the loft hatch until we arrive, unless absolutely necessary
- 2 Turn on all lights in unused rooms, including the loft, to warm them up
- 3 Check that the loft ladder is secure and in good condition, if fitted
- 4 Locate the consumer unit and confirm the main switch is operational
- 5 Verify that the soil stack, if exposed, is not cracked or leaking
Watch out for
- ✓ Loft hatch is stuck or misaligned
